Reproduktivlivsplan.se is part of a research project on health and lifestyle before, during and after pregnancy at Uppsala University. The purpose of this sub-project is to increase young people’s knowledge on the impact of age and lifestyle habits have on fertility. The background for the preventative venture is that women and men are having children at a later age, when a woman’s fertility has started to decline. Preventative information may help to increase young people’s possibilities to make informed choices when it comes to the influence of lifestyle habits on fertility, pregnancy, birth and the health of future children.
The inspiration for this project comes from, among others, the American public health authority CDC. Similar projects are currently in progress in several European countries, among others, Denmark, Belgium, England and Italy.
